Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy

About Me

Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I had a difficult time. I've always had trouble with my back, and the weight gain threw me off balance and made me experience a lot of pain. I was so uncomfortable all of the time that I couldn't even get through a day of work. I finally decided to go see a chiropractor that a coworker recommended. I was very nervous -- I'd heard about having your back cracked, and it sounded scary to me. The chiropractor did manipulate my back, but he was very gentle, and it didn't hurt at all. In fact, it helped. So did the massage table in his office. Without that care, I don't know how I would have gotten through the rest of the pregnancy. I decided to start a blog to help other women learn how chiropractic care can help them through a difficult pregnancy.

Why Go To A Chiropractor If Your Back Pain Won't Go Away?

If you have relentless back pain, you're not alone. Back pain is in the top ten most expensive medical conditions among people, and around eight percent of the adult population experiences chronic or ongoing back pain. While most people have back pain from time to time, having chronic and relentless back pain is debilitating and causes you to sacrifice in many ways.

You can experience a hard time going to work and being able to stay focused on your daily tasks if you have ongoing back pain. You can also experience difficulties in remaining active and keeping on top of your overall health and wellness when persistent back pain sticks with you.

Whether you have tried over-the-counter medication without luck, are going to physical therapy and you want more results, or you are being referred to a new specialist by your doctor, a chiropractor can be the best professional for your needs. Here are reasons to go to a chiropractor when your back pain won't go away.

A chiropractor can treat a more direct back pain issue

Your back pain can be caused by many things that a chiropractor can actively treat. For example, if your back pain is caused by a pinched nerve, your chiropractor can locate this issue for you and then give you alignment sessions to put your spine off your nerves. If your back pain is caused by your spine being out of alignment, your chiropractor can reposition your spine, neck, and shoulders and bring you lasting relief.

In readjusting your spine and putting your body back in better alignment, you can feel better about yourself, strengthen your spine, and keep your lingering pain from returning.

A chiropractor can give you exercises you can do at home

If you have your back pain assessed by a chiropractor, they can not only assess what is causing your pain in the first place, they can show you how to do some exercises and stretches at home to give you lasting relief. A chiropractor can make you feel more in control of your body and your back pain in particular. Ongoing treatment sessions with your chiropractor can help you feel most confident in your treatment as you begin to feel better both in and out of the chiropractor's office.

When you have your initial consult with your chiropractor, let them know what treatments and medications you have tried for your ailments. This can help you get the most out of your treatments since your chiropractor will know where to begin with your care.
